Inside the 2018 Hamptons Designer Showhouse
Above, the spacious and airy entryway was beautifully decorated by Sea Green Designs LLC. One of the other downstairs spaces was designed by Sam Ciardi of Samuel Robert Signature Spaces, who was the only designer present in his room at the time when I visited. It was great to meet Sam – he was super friendly and funny and I always love to hear some of the stories behind the creation of the room.
Jamie Drake and Alexa Hampton are the Honorary Design Co-Chairmen. Check out my exclusive photo shoot from the day below.. The location is great and the included breakfast is quite good. As for the beds...they are quite stiff and not comfortable at all.

I am amazed at the coffee with a built in ice bucket. Imagine lounging on this large stone patio with several seating areas anchored with beautiful outdoor rugs. The 2018 Hampton Designer Showhouse is a newly constructed 8,200 square foot home built by Barsalin Building and Designand is located in Bridgehampton, New York. This year, the funds raised from the showhouse will benefitStony Brook Southampton Hospital.
I loved the pillow pattern mixing – both the fact of it but also each pattern on its own (Les Touches is one of my all-time favorites). I also liked the little blue side table and the abstract art on either side of the rattan Serena and Lily daybed. Good rooms, workshop facilities and restaurant- the wellness area is also very nice. When the weather allows it the surroundings are great, check out the Storchennest nearby .

The bathrooms are quite good with the exception of a poorly designed shower that makes half the bathroom wet while showering. When you get out of the shower you will be in a small pool of water. The pool area is quite nice however I did not get the chance to swim. I always love when designers include a cozy reading space in a bedroom . Also loved the sweet side table with its delicate curved legs.

The 2018 Hamptons Designer Showhouse is underway, and we got an exclusive first look inside during the opening night Gala at the Bridgehampton home. Each year, the Showhouse allows designers to exhibit the latest in design trends all while benefiting the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. This year’s home is presented by Traditional Home and was built by Barsalin Building and Design. The designer of this simply chic yet elegant bedroom is none other than HGTV’s Design Star competitor and design expert for the Steve Harvey show, Mikel Welch. We cannot get enough of this dreamy kitchen, designed by Designs by Fernando featuring Kohler home decor and Circa Lighting.
The lower level seemed splendidly massive – almost like a glamour pit for spoiled children adults. From the moment you enter, the volume of the house creates a sense of scale that is unique. A two-story foyer leads to a two-story Great Room, with a 22′ wall of glass in the back. The 2018 Hampton Designer Showhouse opened with a Gala Preview Cocktail Party on Saturday, July 21st.
Currently construction next to the hotel which is a bit too loud in the morning. We had a nice two-room suite with a small kitchen. But place was clean and with windows open cool enough to sleep. Ate dinner at the restaurant -- traditional Franconian dishes, delicious.

Also designed by The Rinfret Groupfor Lloyd Flanders, the patio was another alluring space where they continued to wow us with their choice of fabrics. One of the lovely outdoor spaces at the showhouse was designed by Rajni Alex, whose glamorous bedroom was one of my favorites at last year’s showhouse! I was happy to see that she was back this year, and her outdoor terrace inspired by the South of France made me eager to get to Provence one of these days. She created this space in collaboration with Woodard Furniture. Last weekend I headed to my parent’s house on Long Island for my sister’s birthday and along the way, visited the 2018 Traditional HomeHampton Designer Showhouse. I absolutely love seeing this showhouse every summer! This year, funds raised are benefiting Stony Brook Hospital , and I definitely recommend you go see it before it closes Labor Day Weekend!
Altmuehlsee is according to me the most beautiful lake in the area. I visited it in winter so I can't say what is a service quality. But it seems to have everything one can need to relax on the beach or enjoy water sports. There is a bicycle path around the whole lake and marked hiking trail. Although the lake is intensively commercially used you can find there a beautiful nature and even a natural reservation.
